Viracocha Hill Project

Viracocha Hill is a wind and energy storage repowering project in the famed Altamont Pass, where the first utility-scale wind farms were built in the US. This is the second project in the Altamont Pass that Salka will be repowering.

  • Located 35 miles east of the San Francisco Bay Area in Alameda County, the Project will provide renewable energy to major load centers

  • The Project is the conglomeration of two neighboring projects that were acquired between May of 2021 and May of 2022

  • During the peak of construction, the Project is expected to create up to 100 new jobs

  • Viracocha Hill is expected to provide clean renewable energy to approximately 25,000 homes while offsetting an estimated 6.48 million metric tons of CO2

  • The Project expects to generate millions of dollars over its operating life in tax revenue that will benefit Alameda County’s schools and local community initiatives
